The Project Manager - Cybersecurity is to plan, execute, and finalize medium to large projects according to the deadlines and budget set within IT Cybersecurity. This includes coordinating the efforts of project team members and third-parties in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the Cybersecurity program, also defining project objectives and overseeing quality control throughout the life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Manage overall Cybersecurity program, including all associated medium to large Projects
- Create project plans, budgets, and manage project flows with little oversight or guidance
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with Senior Leadership and stakeholders
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Follow and utilize processes and procedures as defined by the PMO to manage project deliverables
- Properly communicate project status using the proper report format to Senior Leadership, project stakeholder, and project team members
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
- Ensure cybersecurity service renewals are made on-time and in budget
- Manage a wide range of security projects, including: NIST, PCI, Security Engineering, Access Management, SIEM/SOC Activities, Renewals, Technology exploration, Device patching, training, XDR/EDR, policy/procedure creation, minimum security standards for Infrastructure/cloud/SaaS, and Incident management
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates and presentations on progress within the Cybersecurity program
- Track project financials and spending to provide reporting
- Actively alert leadership to project risks and issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering required or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, Agile/Scrum etc. are a plus
- 5+ years managing programs and large, complex projects
- 10+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
- Responsible, organized, analytical, curious, and results oriented
- Strong familiarity with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Being adept at project management software, such as Smartsheet and/or MS Project is a big plus
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
- Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management clients and other departments
- Experience managing large and multi-million-dollar, global projects that span across thousands of locations
- Technical experience within several infrastructure domains, including: Infrastructure, Security Engineering, Security Operations, and Governance/Risk/Compliance
- Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
- Familiar with cybersecurity services, including: PCI, NIST, SOC, Risk Management, Access Management
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
