Job Description Summary

The Implementation Project Manager provides direct oversight and management of projects, primarily for individual Parata new product installations, but also customer-to-customer sales, relocations, removals, upgrades, conversions, inspections, and training. Markets served include independent, institutional, and chain. Projects are complex and require a commanding cross-functional leadership to ensure success and positive customer outcomes. The Implementation Project Manager will support and lead implementations for vial filling product lines, pouch and blister packaging solutions, pouch inspection devices, inventory management and workflow solutions, software solutions, and other product lines as required. The incumbent must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, as necessary, with occasional overnight stays expected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, facilitate, coordinate, and track day-to-day activities required to ensure the project is completed on time, successfully, and in a manner consistent with organizational goals, departmental policies, established processes, and/or the standard terms and conditions of the contract

  • Creation and use of project plans for assigned projects, which include clear milestones and assignment of project task responsibilities

  • Successfully manage the scope of the project, including customer priorities

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to identify risks to project success; develop effective action plans for resolution

  • Appropriately manage / escalate project issues or risks

  • Managing customer expectations of product and services

  • Providing leadership and direction for customers and BD project team

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, verbal and written, with customers, project teams and leadership

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrated ability of leading project teams and act as an effective team leader for all matrixed staff

  • Accurately forecasting current and future quarter revenue for assigned projects

  • Use of all governance tools (scope document, project status reports, risk and change logs, tollgates, etc.), for all assigned projects, to effectively manage all projects

  • Provides constructive performance appraisal input through peer review process

  • Serves as a liaison between customers and Parata's internal teams throughout the implementation life cycle

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry-recognized project management methodologies

  • Solid dedication to documentation of project progress in a centralized reporting location (Salesforce)

  • Working knowledge of pharmacy automation products (pharmacy automation, pharmacy host software, etc.) is preferred

  • Strong communication and decision-making skills

  • Superior time management skills: organizes time effectively and determines the right resources needed to effectively perform job assignments

  • Compliant with forecasting and backlog management processes

  • Thinks creatively and encourages others to take reasoned risks to achieve value-added results

  • Works with minimal direction but promotes an open flow of information so that all concerned are well informed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required or 3-5 years equivalent experience

  • Project management or leadership experience required

  • Specific knowledge of BD business highly desired.

  • Prefer experience implementing and supporting healthcare IT software solutions, experience with capital equipment model is a plus

  • Prefer knowledge of hospital systems and procedures that integrate with BD products.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.

  • Home based position with travel. Travel may average 50% overnight travel. Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends. Ability to work independently from home office

  • Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox), Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.   • Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions. When visiting client locations, exposure to the environmental conditions common to pharmacy operation should be expected.

  • Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion.

  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Occasional travel by car and occasional travel by air is required. Travel time will vary but may be up to four hours daily.

  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.

  • While COVID-19 precautions are in effect, this role may require use of face masks/face coverings and gloves while working in customer pharmacies.
