The position:

The Project Manager Systems Implementation will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing out complex information technology projects related to systems implementation. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and effective communication to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve project goals and contribute to the organization's strategic IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Resource Management: Identify and allocate resources required for the project, including internal team members, external vendors, and third-party contractors. Monitor resource utilisation and adjust as necessary to meet project requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address any issues that may impact project timelines or outcomes. Regularly communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with all project stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, executives, and vendors. Provide regular project updates, status reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement processes related to the project.
  • Quality Assurance: Define project quality standards and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle. Perform quality assurance checks and validation to ensure project deliverables meet established criteria.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management strategies to support the adoption of new systems and processes. Work closely with end-users to facilitate training and provide necessary documentation.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and external partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services. Manage vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with established agreements.
  • Project Closure: Ensure proper project closure by conducting post-implementation reviews, capturing lessons learned, and documenting best practices. Obtain sign-off from stakeholders and transition project deliverables to operational teams.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in systems implementation projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential aged care or other related medical industry.
