    Public Health Practitioner

    About this role

    This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner with experience of implementing public health interventions and programmes who wants to make a difference to the health of current and future generations in Wales. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, analytical, a skilled communicator and ideally experience of working with a range of public sector stakeholders.

    Each part of our organisation plays a significant part in contributing to the seven priorities of our Strategic Plan, and as part of our contribution, the Wider Determinants of Health Unit is looking for an individual with drive and ambition to join its expanding team.

    If successful you will support Public Health Network Cymru and oversee delivery of the network’s development plan. The network, which is hosted by the Wider Determinants of Health Unit, aims to inform, facilitate and create connections for professionals from a range of sectors in order to improve population health and well-being and reduce health inequalities.

    You will also support delivery of other elements of the Unit workplan, including work to improve health equity by addressing worklessness of public health concern.

    • Contribute to the development and delivery of projects to understand and influence wider determinants of health at an All Wales level

    • Undertake the monitoring and contribute to evaluation of action which aims to improve population health and reduce health inequalities

    • Monitor the delivery of project plans and actions relevant to sections of the Public Health Wales Long Term Strategy.

    • Contribute to the development of interventions that are co-produced with key stakeholders including the public

    • Lead on the dissemination of knowledge and evidence relating to the wider determinants of health
