Job Title: Real Estate Accountant with Appfolio Experience

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Accountant with expertise in using Appfolio and Quickbooks online. This role involves managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency with Appfolio software.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain financial records for real estate properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Utilize Appfolio software for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper recording of transactions
Monitor and report on the financial performance of real estate assets
Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting
Proficiency in Appfolio software and other accounting tools
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and real estate finance
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Skills:
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
Experience with tax preparation and compliance
Knowledge of real estate laws and regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
