Release Manager Responsibilities:
- Work with Development teams to create and fill out Release Story and subtasks.
- Ensure release artifacts are complete and adhere to FPAC guidelines.
- Coordinate between Platform and development teams for deployment.
- Shepherd stories through the deployment workflow.
- Stay informed about the current and future processes related to release management by attending NRCS/FPAC wide meetings / community of practice (CoP) events.
- Work with teams on continuous improvement for SDLC related processes.
DevOps Responsibilities:
- Review environment documentation including infrastructure and networking documentation.
- Draft development workflows with individual scrum teams to ensure conformity to FPAC DevOps standards.
- Certify proper code flow through the CI/CD pipeline.
- Example: Correct use of feature and release branches
- Understanding of proper branch cutting techniques
- Enable teams to properly make use of tooling integration (Atlassian suite, Jenkins, AWS services).
- Collaborate with the Platform Automation team to ensure app automation flow through environments is running as intended.
Required:
- Experience and practice with development lifecycle, including GitHub Workflow, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of best practices in DevOps.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills – this role involves working with many different teams, vendor and federal.
Preferred experience with:
- Coding experience (.NET, Typescript, python), while you might not be directly developing code, it’s useful when trying to work with Dev teams on their workflows.
