Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a REMOTE Senior Java Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the USPS program. This individual will be responsible for developing web based applications including on-line customer service for agency components to be able to deliver their services on-line.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Provide support in developing the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website.
- Provide support for the implementation of interfaces to applications.
- Train/mentor less experienced personnel.
- Collaborate with end users to define new Web-based software system requirements.Author or contribute to software-related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manuals.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex Web-based software systems.
- Developing/supporting software applications using Java and more than one of these software technologies:
- Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Visual Basic, JavaScript, MS Access, HTML.
- Collaborate with end users to define new Web-based software system requirements.
- Developing/supporting software applications using Java and more than one of these software technologies:
- Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Visual Basic, JavaScript, MS Access, HTML.
- Creating and maintain applications written Oracle PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, HTML, JavaScript and .Net.
- Work with business customer(s) and infrastructure teams to translate requirements to applications.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience or high school diploma/GED with 6+ years’ experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S Citizenship or Green Card holder; residing in the U.S for the past five years with no more than 6 months travel outside the U.S. during this time frame.
- 2+ years advanced computer programming skills in Java/J2EE, Web Services/Design/Development and APIs.
- 2+ years advanced computer programming skills in JSF 2.x/PrimeFaces, JSP.
- 2+ years advanced computer programming skills in JavaScript/JQuery/AJAX/Angular JS.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, both individual and team related tasks.
- Maintains attention to detail in high-pressure situations, and the ability to exhibit confidence and knowledge in solving problems.
- Experience in full life cycle development and Agile development methodology.
- Skills in: DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Hands-on experience in analysis and design.
PreferredQualifications:
- Working knowledge and experience coding in Java is preferred.
- Knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable:
- Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, and SQL Server, Visual Basic, JavaScript, MS Access, HTML, DBMS's (ex. - Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
