POSITION SUMMARY:
The Research Intern preforms routine laboratory research and development tasks. Works with a multidisciplinary term. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of basic and general laboratory research tasks as determined by the field and scope of the research project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works primarily with R&D Research team providing peripheral help with research efforts.
Assist in sample preparation
Assist in simple experimental planning and execution.
Recognize and escalate equipment and instrument malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
Perform other tasks as specified by the manager/director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Completion of at least one Biology or equivalent course
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Communication skills: Verbal and Written
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment and manage competing priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are typically performed in an office setting
This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.
May require lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
