Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/INDVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute the roadmap and strategy for the Remote Sensing Unit in line with FGVR&D’s strategic objectives
• To monitor all related work regarding Multi-GNSS and Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV) mapping running smoothly as proposed schedule.
• To conduct research in plantation management using Geospatial Technologies
• To organize and update all geospatial data to be fully utilize by internal and external parties.

Operational Excellence

• Identify emerging geospatial technologies that can be applied to estate management and monitoring in company within FGV R&D & FGV Agri Services
• Able to develop digital replanting blueprint for long-term cost saving in plantation management.
• Able develop geographical information system and digital mapping for precision agricultural practice

Development Of New Applications and Services

• Identify RS & GIS technologies that can be applied to estate management and monitoring
• Develop digital replanting blueprint for long-term cost saving in plantation management.
• Develop geographical information system for precision agriculture
• To establish a good rapport with suppliers and acknowledge the services to any new potential customers.

Technical Expertise

• Provide expertise and advice to other department that may require emerging geospatial technologies for adoption to their operations.
• To carry out support services related to digital mapping
• To provide technical advice related to digital mapping to improve work efficiency

People Management

• To guide, coach and supervise staff under supervision on digital mapping related in order to build a high skill staff on geospatial work area.

COMPETENCIES

• Procifient in Remote Sensing & Geoinformatics data analytics
• Proficient in the use of RS & GIS software (ENVI, ERDAS, Global Mapper, Mapinfo, ArcGIS, Agisoft Photoscan) and Microsoft Office
• Proficient in the use of GPS/GNSS/RTK, UAV/drone, and laser scanning devices
• Professional members of IGRSM (Institution Geospatial & Remote Sensing Malaysia)
• Certification in drone operation

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE

Level of Education

• Minimal entry is Bachelor Degree in Remote Sensing, Geomatic, Geoinformatics, or related field.
