The Role:

Congo Brands, the powerhouse behind innovative beverages like Alani Nu and PRIME, is seeking a Routing Manager to join our team. This role is central to ensuring our Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) are efficiently navigating routes to maximize product visibility and sales in selected stores. Your strategic planning and analysis will directly influence the success of our distribution, keeping our leading products well-stocked and prominently displayed. This role will oversee a team responsible for TSM efficiency, bringing measurable value to the existing TSM program, and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Sales Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Optimization: Develop and refine routing strategies for TSMs to ensure the most effective store coverage, enhancing our brand's market presence. Must be able to work with a variety of inputs and variables to optimize routes to business needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of routing specialists (one to start) to create optimal routes that will drive performance with TSMs, guiding them to meet and exceed distribution targets through strategic route planning.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to analyze routing efficiency, making data-informed adjustments to improve TSM performance. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate routing performance and initiatives to senior management.
  • Tech Utilization: Employ basic coding knowledge to tweak or create routing tools, streamlining the route planning process.
  • Collaboration: Align routing strategies with sales goals, working alongside sales and distribution teams to ensure cohesive brand promotion efforts.
  • Strategic Thinking: Pro-actively create and investigate hypotheses about routes and performance, suggest areas of improvements to ensure we maximize our field team’s time and minimize costs.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in routing or logistics, with a preference for backgrounds in food and beverage.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with SQL and DAX experience a bonus.
  • Excellent organizational, and communication skills.
  • Adaptable and self-reliant, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and meet ambitious KPIs.
  • Experience with Descartes not a requirement but would be a huge bonus.
  • Proven strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking skills and a desire to be a lifelong learner.
