Sales Executive - Remote Northeast
Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s leading brands and companies, is actively seeking a Sales Executive with industry experience to join our Electrical sales team supporting the northeast U.S. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in facilitating international trade and regulatory product testing.

The Sales Executive is responsible for the growth of assigned key accounts as well as identifying and developing strategic new business opportunities. This position will travel at least 50% of the time.

Intertek's Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. What you’ll do:
The Sales Executive position provides leadership for growing revenue and market share of testing for specific key accounts. In addition to meeting established revenue targets, you will be responsible for defining strategies and tactics necessary to effectively capture market share, growing share of existing customer business, and cultivating new business prospects. With management, marketing, and business line leadership, you will drive new service development, set value propositions and service-level commitments, price points, and messaging and competitive positions.
- Sell Intertek’s services within assigned account and territory through effective client research, prospecting, and networking.
- Define strategies and tactics necessary to effectively capture market share and drive industry growth; grow Intertek’s existing customer base by expanding current customer relationships and cultivating new customer relationships.
- Meet with current and prospective customers via client presentations and participation at trade shows.
- Meet order and revenue quotas on a monthly basis.
- Write and follow up on proposals, follow through on sales transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Meet all activity targets and log activity in to iConnect, as required.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts, as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Work with Sales Manager to define and develop territory to increase new and existing sales.
- Spend a minimum of 50% outside interface with new and existing identified target clients.

What it takes to be successful in this role:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of successful direct sales experience.
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must possess excellent communication skills in written, verbal and presentation formats.
- Must be energized, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required.
- Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and to perform all clerical functions inherit to the position.
- This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Business to business sales experience.
- Industry experience.
- Experience with CRM tools (MS Dynamics / Sales Force / other)
