SFI is searching for a Salesforce Business Analyst to join our team to support a stable multi-year client program. This is a full-time position (with benefits) and is fully funded. The candidate will support business analyst activities for a maintaining and operating an enterprise Salesforce infrastructure and providing necessary maintenance and service desk support for Salesforce solutions.

Summary of Major Job Functions
Non-technical activities:

  • Act as a management consultant, advisor, and implementor for a dynamic client in a science-driven environment. Understanding the client’s business processes and requirements and how Salesforce can transform their operations. As part of our team delivering digital transformation services, you will provide advanced technical solutions to streamline and optimize systems.
  • This role involves full life-cycle Agile implementation activities including design, development, testing, production, and implementation. You will serve as a translator between technical teams and the customer’s business community to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design for Salesforce solutions. You will serve as the trusted advisor and relationship builder.

Technical activities:

  • Support a broad-based Salesforce program and help enable the customer to discover and document business and technical requirements, and develop, pilot, adopt, maintain and evaluate Salesforce solutions for processing research topic inquiries, merit review, and grant management.
  • Provide support for determining the feasibility and complexity of potential Salesforce projects.
  • Provide suitable business analyst support to discuss and answer questions regarding Salesforce systems, infrastructure, and operations as well as their potential integration with customer systems, data and operations.

Primary Responsibilities
The Salesforce Business Analyst responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Work with clients to understand needs and requirements.
  • Conduct workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Support business process re-engineering efforts to configure the system to meet new client initiatives.
  • Introduce and educate customers on best Salesforce and ITIL practices.
  • Perform a gap analysis of current and desired processes and Salesforce OOB functionality
  • Assess current state legacy processes.
  • Provide analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
  • Provide effective and comprehensive communication project-wide and engage across the team and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and conduct working sessions to gather and document requirements.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure all requirements are understood, documented, and tested.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customer’s requirements and assist the project team in applying industry best practices and detailed knowledge of Salesforce to design an optimal solution.
  • Assist the technical team in translating application functionality into application architecture and the production of a business functionality requirements statement.
  • Document workflows and results of business analysis.
  • Write stories with acceptance criteria and functional tests, in accordance with agile best practice guidelines.
Requirements
  • BS or BA in CS, CIS, EE, Math or equivalent technical studies.
  • 5 years overall IT BA experience
  • 3 years of experience in Salesforce development as a BA
  • Deep understanding the Salesforce platform, including its architecture, data model, customization capabilities and integration points with other systems
  • Familiarity with Salesforce automation tools like Process Builder, Flows, and Apex
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with high-level federal officials
  • Proactive problem solver with good planning and organization skills

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with grants management systems or the Salesforce Grants Management tool including its configuration, customization, and integration with other systems
  • Experience working in an Agile or SAFe environment
  • Federal Salesforce BA experience
  • PMP Certification

  • The salary for this position is $70,000 - $115,000 annually
