Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a full-time Senior 3D Environment Artist for current and future games at our growing remote studio!

A major part of our identity at Gardens is our unique and highly stylized aesthetic. We are looking for someone who can translate concept art and ideas into stunning game-ready assets, working in collaboration with our talented team of artists, designers, and engineers.

Bring life to a surprising, ever-growing fantasy-adventure world. Create biomes and environments fulled with awe and wonder for players to discover and explore.

We seek collaborative individuals that are excited to contribute innovative and original ideas across all aspects of the game's design & production, working together as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Help elevate 3D style goals through look-dev exploration and iteration.

  • Create high-resolution sculpts and final game-ready models with textures to establish visual targets.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to help provide a consistent vision and style.

  • Work with the Art Director to help define the art pipeline and teach fellow artists.

Qualifications

  • Ability and drive to contribute innovative and original ideas across all aspects of the game's design & production.

  • Expert in 3D industry-standard software for modeling and texturing such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter.

  • Experience using Unreal engine to create environments.

  • Ability to rapidly iterate to help solve for various artistic and technical questions.

  • Capable of owning the creation process for an environment from blockout through to final polish.

  • Great eye and understanding for appealing stylized visuals.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Excited and able to work with an agile and flexible team and participate in major decisions.

  • Readiness to work with integrity, honesty, and accountability, taking ownership of your actions and decisions.

  • Capable of working independently, keeping on-task and motivated.

  • Located in PT, MT, CT, ET time zone, or willing to relocate.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience working with lighting and skydome to help set the mood.

  • Experience creating materials and shaders within Unreal Engine.

  • An strong interest and experience working on level design.

  • A deep passion for creating stylized fantasy worlds.

  • Experience debugging and optimizing performance in relation to environment art.

Compensation Range: $135K - $190K
