Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations
Help maintain and improve month-end close processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure compliance with GAAP
Respond to information requests and assist with the annual financial statement audit - including project management related aspects of the audit
Analyze financial statements and GL accounts to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual fluctuations are in line with expectations and documented
Prepare operational and ad hoc reporting for additional analysis associated with financial statement areas assigned
Assist the accounting manager, director of accounting, and controller as needed
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Take ownership of preparing financial statement areas assigned to you (potential areas may include revenue, stock based compensation, administrative fees, incentive compensation, payroll and others)
Establish strong working relationships cross functionally
Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3-4 years of experience preferably with a public accounting/private accounting mix
CPA preferred
Experience with one or more complex areas of accounting including but not limited to revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations or investments
Ability to read and analyze financial statements/reports
Comfort with ambiguity and lack of formally defined processes
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Highly organized and detail oriented

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
