Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis reports to management.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure proper recording of financial transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Establish and enforce internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Identify and mitigate any potential risks or deficiencies.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for management.
  • Coordinate and assist with tax-related activities, including preparation of tax returns, compliance with tax laws and regulations, and liaising with external tax advisors.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing requested financial information, explanations, and documentation. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Foster a positive and supportive work environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Strong Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting
  • Principles (GAAP) and financial accounting standards. Familiarity with tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and financial management systems. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff is desirable.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
