As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Senior Accountant to be a key player in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our monthly closing and financial reporting processes.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead and enhance our monthly closing and financial statement review processes, with a strong focus on ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases) compliance. In this role, you will report to the Controller and Sr. Accounting Manager and collaborate across departments to ensure efficient, compliant financial operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled accountant looking to broaden their expertise, particularly in technical accounting, while contributing to Clearwave Fiber's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Asset Management: Oversee the accounting for capital assets, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Lease Accounting: Lead the ASC 842 lease accounting process, managing data in Visual Lease software.
  • Revenue Recognition: Implement and maintain policies for ASC 606 to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements with detailed variance (flux) analysis to support business decisions.
  • Journal Entries & Reconciliations: Manage monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Lead processes within Thompson Reuters FA for fixed asset accounting, including data extraction and reconciliations.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary contact for auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their growth within the finance team.
  • Process Optimization: Design and improve processes for greater efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall goals of the finance team.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be analytical, have strong foundational accounting skills, a thirst for knowledge and self-development, a strong ethical foundation, and have a “do whatever it takes” mentality to get the job done. What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842.
  • Skillset: Deep understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting.
  • Technology: Proficient with accounting software, Visual Lease, Thompson Reuters FA, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Traits: A detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
