Penguin Random House is seeking a Senior Sales Associate for assisting and selling Penguin Young Readers and Random House Children's Books titles into Books-A-Million.
As a member of the Penguin Random House Children's Sales team, the candidate will help effectively streamline sales outreach, work on title curation, create sales materials, and seek out for sales growth opportunities for PRH’s children’s books. A curiosity about children’s book publishing and an eagerness to learn are highly desired.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support Books-A-Million Sales Manager on the PYR and RHCB business, plus direct selling responsibilities for several children’s categories
- Communicate sales activities internally and externally
- Create seasonal PowerPoint presentations and monthly sell-in materials
- Handle account administration duties such as estimates, mailings, data uploads, etc.
- Run daily and weekly sales reporting
- Ad-Hoc analysis to identify account growth opportunities
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, including direct interaction with accounts
- Highly organized with the ability to self-start and prioritize a heavy workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on numbers and financials
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the year via plane, train, or car.
- Proactive with strong follow-up skills
- Familiarity with Children’s Books preferred
- Book Retail experience a plus!
- Understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
The salary for this position is $58,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
