Overview: we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a SQL Consolidation program aimed at streamlining and optimizing our current data estate. This critical role will involve assessing existing systems, identifying technical debt, and architecting a comprehensive consolidation plan to improve data efficiency and reduce costs.

Please note that

• This job will require your availability from Monday to Friday, 7.30 to 15.30 PST
• Length of engagement estimated in 18 months
• Estimated starting date: November 1st, 2024

Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment of current data environment, focusing on the Microsoft data stack (Azure, SQL Server).
• Evaluate and address technical debt, ensuring a smooth consolidation process.
• Architect and implement a robust SQL consolidation strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to junior data engineers and other team members.
• Ensure that data integrity, security, and performance standards are met throughout the project.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Microsoft data technologies, including Azure and SQL Server.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale data consolidation projects.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and database optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with knowledge transfer and team mentorship.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
