Join our groundbreaking design team at Providence’s Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE). As a Senior Design Researcher, you will lead diverse projects in support of ACOE’s new strategy. You will provide consultation and research support to our product teams to help understand, articulate, and meet the needs of users. Your background should include qualitative research in a healthcare setting, with familiarity with healthcare concepts and terminology. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment with product designers, design researchers and product managers. Excellent storytelling skills and ability to translate complex research findings into compelling narratives that influence decision-making will strengthen your candidacy. In this role, you will also be expected to demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal constituents. This role does not involve direct interactions with patients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human-Centered Design, Psychology, Human Behavior, Analytics, or related field of study
    • 6 years of increasing responsibility in customer relationship management or customer-facing engagement and communication
    • 3 years of experience in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, insight synthesis, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

Research Expertise:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Human-Centered Design, Psychology, Human Behavior, Analytics, or a related field.
    • Proficient in mixed methods research, demonstrating substantial experience in both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.

Healthcare and Strategic Insight:

  • Deep understanding of healthcare context including operations, outcomes, strategy, and value-based care.
    • Experience with data-driven solutions in healthcare settings.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of effectively documenting progress and proactively communicating updates.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor and enhance UX understanding within teams, especially in environments with low UX maturity.
    • Excellent storytelling skills, capable of translating complex research findings into compelling narratives that influence decision-making and strategy.
