At Outside, we’re bringing our inspiring content and our empowering tools to a large audience across 30+ platforms and domains. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be working across our product landscape to support our most highly available and trafficked properties. This includes managing network, application, and storage infrastructure hosted in data centers, replicating to cloud providers, and partnering with the application developers on these teams to create scalable architectures.
What you will do:
- Maintain current cloud architecture in place utilizing products such as ECS, EC2, Aurora RDS
- Support dedicated / on-prem hardware including health monitoring, upgrades, networking fundamentals, and maintenance
- Ensure our infrastructure systems are compliant with modern security policies, legal frameworks, and auditing requirements (SOC2)
- Work closely with development teams to define devops requirements, manage project scope, and drive implementation of new services, infrastructure, CI/CD (CircleCI/Jenkins/Github Actions), and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus)
- Provide technical guidance and support to partners such as IT, Security Engineering, and the wider engineering organization.
This describes you:
- 7+ years of experience designing & building highly available infrastructure in AWS
- Experience with configuration management software such as Terraform and Ansible
- At least 1 year of working with dedicated / on-prem infrastructure
- 4+ years working with UNIX/Linux operating systems
- Skilled at determining project priorities according to business needs
- You avoid scope creep to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- You’re always up for a challenge and ready to learn a new-to-you system
Nice to have:
- Experience migrating from one cloud provider to another
- Experience migrating from a datacenter to the cloud

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $140,000 - $175,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
