Please explore this opportunity to join us as a Senior Data Engineer for our government client in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with a team of engineers and data scientists to perform data extraction, analysis, modeling, and research to understand and interpret data predictions, relationships, and trends
  • Working with end users to help educate them in Apache Spark processing utilizing SQL, Python, and/or R programming languages within Databricks
  • Create queries, reports, and technical presentations
  • Write unit and integration tests for a variety of data processing code
  • Comprehension of the latest technology trends, developments and best practices to define new process improvement opportunities
  • Ensuring successful completion of work and timeliness of deliverables
  • Providing status updates to senior members of the team and working with management to identify and prioritize business needs
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics or related field
  • 7 years of experience in software development, data pipelines, data modeling, data profiling, data research, and data management
  • Extensive experience working with data in SQL, Python, and/or R
  • Experience and understanding of Apache Spark and large-scale data processing
  • Experience and understanding of Databricks
  • Experience with Github and using test-driven development
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Desire to dig in, learn and contribute to new challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data
  • Experience with AWS
  • eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.

Working Environment:

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
