As a SeniorEngineering Manager, you will lead the Dashboards team to build state-of-the-art content providing Sumo Logic customers with insights on the health of operations and/or the security posture of their service. This team is responsible for providing dashboards and searches that customers leverage from day 1 of their Sumo Service experience. These integrations and dashboards are a major factor why customers adopt Sumo to get leverage from the Platform
The Dashboards Team is responsible for building scalable, cost-efficient, and highly available backend log query services for Sumo Logic Dashboards. You will be working with a group of talented front-end and back-end engineers to help them orchestrate consistent product experiences. We’re looking for a Product focused engineering leader to drive the technical vision.
What will you be doing?
- You will lead development teams building dashboards and log queries for Sumo customers to gain health and security insights on their infrastructure.
- Provide technical oversight for the team ensuring best practices are followed and elegant solutions are pursued and delivered.
- You will provide mentorship enabling continued career growth for team members.
- Define and execute the roadmap by collaborating with partners in Product, Design, and Operations.
- You will maintain development roadmaps, lead the agile development practices, and ensure the team's performance is world class.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 8+ yrs developer + manager experience combined.... with 4+ yrs experience managing/leading development team(s).
- Experience developing full-stack web solutions using Java, Scala, Golang or other similar frameworks.
- Experience building large-scale single page web applications using Javascript/Typescript and React.
- You have a working knowledge of Microservice architectures / distributed systems (AWS experience is a plus)
- You have deep knowledge of the Web as a platform
- You are able to work through ambiguous requirements and make decisions to push forward and remove obstacles that prevent teams from achieving their goals
- You are highly organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required.
- You are a master of Agile processes, continuous integration, and test automation. Ideally, you have completed formal Agile training and have managed a Scrum team.
- You possess clear communication skills, and the ability to develop positive relationships with subordinates, peers, upper management, and partners.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $200k-230k. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
