Atomos is a fast-growing video technology company headquartered in Australia. It was founded 10 years ago and provides monitor recorders and a host of cloud-based tools and services. They operate internationally and are led by a dynamic, ambitious leadership team based in Melbourne, Australia.
They are looking for a qualified senior financial accountant to build out their accounting team. The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO in Melbourne, and will have the opportunity to build out a team of 4-6 accountants reporting directly to him/her in Nairobi.

Requirements
What you'll be doing
- Manage month-end and year-end processes for the Group, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement review and analysis.
- Prepare sales and inventory reporting for internal stakeholders.
- Managing all aspects of the AP, AR and Payroll functions.
- Manage banking and debt compliance.
- Preparation of board packs.
- Liaise and manage the audit process, external financial reporting and ASX compliance.
- Own and manage tax (including transfer pricing) and other compliance with external accountants, including, GST, BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT.
- Review monthly ATO compliance.
- Manage and ensure compliance with external royalty partners, including submission of quarterly reporting and relevant tax compliance.
- Maintain the employee share plans and related accounting.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare technical accounting and management position papers.
- Liaise with Systems Accountant on system issues and improvements.
- Develop new financial policies and procedures appropriate for changing business processes and maintain existing policies and procedures.
- Implement improvements in financial controls and educate the business on such matters.
- Support with special projects and any other ad-hoc tasks.
What you'll need to be successful in the role
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce/Accounting
- 5+ years’ experience in an accounting team
- CA/CPA qualified
- ASX reporting experience
- Good knowledge of technical accounting standards
- Advanced skills on MS Excel
- Strong Attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Self- driven and hands on
- Have an adaptable and autonomous work style
- Curious and continuous improvement mindset
- Resilience and proactiveness
- Experience with Netsuite, preferred but not essential
