YOUR TEAM

Nuna’s product offerings enable delivery of value-based care contracts, at scale across the United States. Value-based healthcare aims to shift reimbursement from fee-for-service to fee-for-value where providers are incentivized to deliver higher quality care to their patients at a lower cost. Today, value-based care is incredibly difficult to operationalize so we’re making it easier with products that enable automated, accurate, and transparent operation of value-based payments.

This role sits on the Actuarial Team at Nuna, which supports the development of tools to enable stakeholders to effectively and efficiently evaluate their reimbursement programs.

YOUR OPPORTUNITIES

In this role you’ll work as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, healthcare data experts, product managers, and customer liaisons to expand, adapt and configure Nuna’s data products towards the delivery of accurate and scalable value-based payment solutions.

With a focus on the financial aspect of value-based arrangements, you will:

  • Identify and understand client’s needs and pain points in operationalizing value based payment arrangements and translate them into tactical recommendations to support scoping and prioritization of development work
  • Solicit, interpret, and document client business requirements and value based payment methodologies
  • Collaborate with Product, Client Management, Engineering teams and the client to verify and validate Nuna’s implementation
  • Work with Product Managers, Engineering, and Design to identify and design new ways to extend Nuna’s products to better serve customer needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of healthcare experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with financial data
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in quantitative or engineering fields (Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics or similar)
  • Familiarity with Excel and SQL
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as client facing experience is strongly preferred
  • Comfortable operating in start-up environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with value based payment models
  • Basic familiarity with Python and Notebooks like Databricks, Jupyter, Google Colab
  • Previous actuarial experience is a bonus

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $98,000 to $149,000. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, and skillset.
