We are looking for a Senior People Partner – Growth to take a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy within our UK & Europe division’s growth function. This role sits at the intersection of HR, business strategy, and bid development, ensuring that people considerations are embedded into every aspect of new business opportunities. You will be responsible for designing and delivering the people workstream within bid processes, ensuring that we develop attractive, commercially viable, and innovative people solutions that set us apart from competitors. Working closely with senior leaders, directors, and our HR operating model, you will provide expert insights, challenge thinking, and drive the alignment of HR strategies with business growth objectives.

In this role, you will also partner with business leaders, senior directors, and stakeholders to support the wider BU Senior People Partner community. You will take ownership of delivering people solution workstreams in line with business direction, while promoting best practices to foster a commercial, inclusive, and progressive people strategy and culture across the UK&E division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility to design and deliver the people workstream within allocated bids across the UK & Europe business, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and contributing to overall bid success.
  • Provide expert guidance, insights, and influence on people-related matters to shape people strategy and ensure alignment to business requirements, helping to turn strategy into action. Infuse strategic yet realistic perspectives into bid development, enhancing growth and competitiveness. Uses metrics and insights to help the business understand their people costs and performance and guide them to action.
  • Develop creative and tailored people solutions specifically designed for each bid, addressing unique challenges and opportunities to enhance bid quality.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide business leaders and stakeholders around people, engagement, and performance matters
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders, such as growth, commercial, finance, and BAU operations. Fostering a strong partnership to integrate people strategies into the overall bid process by sharing compelling ideas, challenging the status-quo, stressing key people risks & suggested mitigation, and provoking critical thinking with others.
  • Harness the diverse skill sets, knowledge, and capabilities within the HR operating model to create a robust and enticing Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that aligns with bid and customer requirements. Harness broad networks and collaborate with key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about industry and regional HR trends, using this knowledge to inform and enhance the people strategies and solutions embedded within bids.
  • Advocate and champion the HR service delivery model. Coach, guide and influence leadership and contract teams to align outcomes to our values, established Serco operating procedures and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the wider development and delivery of people practices to key UK&E projects and improvements that form part of our strategic plan.
  • Evaluate HR processes and their effectiveness, including assurance checks against the people elements of the Serco Management System and makes recommendations for improvements. Help to develop detailed implementation roadmaps, risk mitigation and governance.

What You’ll Need:

  • CIPD Associate membership required, Chartered membership desirable.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR business partner role with strength in organisation design, talent development, industrial relations, culture, succession planning, and strategic thinking, preferably within a large, matrix organisation.
  • Strong understanding of the bid lifecycle, including proposition development, evaluation, and submission.
  • Ability to understand overall business objectives and work with a growth focused mindset, with a track record of brining an ROI-led approach to HR delivery.
  • Ability to align HR strategies with business, bid and customer goals, ensuring people-focused initiatives contribute directly to bid success and overall business growth.
  • Strong data and analysis skills with ability to inform people strategies, track performance and cost metrics, making data-driven improvements.
  • Understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to inform and adapt people strategies within bids.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong, effective working relationships with ability to motivate others and influence new thinking.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, with the courage and conviction to challenge professionally and confidently.
