This role involves consolidating and supporting the activities of various teams (engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and customer relations) to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual commitments.

In addition to managing all project management activities, the Senior Project Manager serves as the liaison between the execution teams and senior management. He or she ensures structured governance, reliable reporting, risk visibility, and the prompt escalation of information regarding issues that impact project delivery. This position requires strong cross-functional coordination skills, in-depth knowledge of substation project execution, and the ability to translate detailed project performance data into clear insights and decision-support tools for internal management and external stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review the project scope and compare it to GEV’s proposal when the project file is transferred from the sales department to project management.

    • Facilitate the project kickoff meeting with all internal stakeholders and assign roles and responsibilities.

    • Lead the kick-off meeting with the client to communicate the nature of the work to be performed and clarify any issues related to the contract.

    • Manage the overall execution of complex substation projects, ensuring their delivery in accordance with the contractual scope, schedule, budget, and quality and safety requirements.

    • Consolidate and coordinate the activities of various subprojects and workflows to create an integrated view of the project and ensure alignment of priorities, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

    • Lead project planning and execution for engineering, procurement, production, logistics, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.

    • Establish and maintain effective project governance, including project reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalation management, and executive reporting.

    • Monitor project performance against key metrics and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts that could affect the project’s success.

    • Support subproject managers and functional teams in resolving cross-functional challenges, removing barriers to execution, and maintaining focus on critical activities.

    • Manage communication with clients and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure transparency, alignment, and the rapid resolution of technical, commercial, and execution-related issues.

    • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, internal processes, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Lead change management activities, including the assessment of scope changes, their impact on the schedule and costs, as well as associated client approvals or notifications.

    • Prepare and present accurate and timely updates to management on project status, forecasts, and summaries, highlighting performance, risks, required decisions, and corrective actions, as appropriate.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team and cross-functional teams.

    • Support project closure activities, including final deliverables, lessons learned, financial closure, and the transition to warranty or service phases, as applicable.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field.

    • At least 5 years of project management experience relevant to the position, preferably in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or other large and complex industrial projects.
