What's the Project?The project is about building and improving the digital platform for the billion-dollar, US-based health insurance. The company handles its business with patients and providers using a cloud-based platform that handles all the patient data, procedures, contracts, claims, payment, etc. Newfire is partnering with the primary supplier of that platform, providing skills and talent in mission-critical, digital tasks that make a difference to both the business and the human health.

    Role Overview:As a senior project manager, you will be responsible for the project transforming the operation of the platform and the team developing it into a state-of-the-art, modern software services organization. Your focus will be particularly on Quality Assurance practices, tools and processes. You will work on a daily basis with the senior management team of the client, making sure the project is on track, it is delivering expected outcomes; the risks are analysed and mitigated, stakeholders are kept informed and the quantitative management reporting tools are set and can be trusted.Your particular responsibility will be related to gradually increasing the use of AI to solidify the process, build solid QA practices and improve productivity and predictability. This is 3-5 months contract for this client, but successful achievers will be welcome to move to other projects run by Newfire.Your day-to-day activities:

    • Managing the teams of 20+ people (Scrum Masters, Architects, Tech Leads, DevOps, Developers, QAs)

    • Leading the People Management process (as a team with HR, Program Manager ): one-on-one meetings, managing employees retention risks, maintaining high motivation, team building etc.

    • Identifying risks and issues, working on the mitigation strategies and communicate to stakeholders

    • Coaching of individual team members and teams to make sure constant development

    • Setting clear goals to individuals, helping with impediments

    • Providing regular feedbacks to team members (3-month, half-year, yearly)

    • Monitoring and managing team dynamics. During the “turbulence” help the teams to find the constructive ways to deal with the root-causes

    • Auditing SDLC, Scrum process with further communication of discovered gaps to stakeholders on client side

    • Helping engineering leaders from client side with observations, team management, initiatives, stimulation, communication on Newfire Team

    • Working closely with Customer Success Manager to report the status and proactively identify & remove roadblocks

    • As a Senior team member, you will be expected to actively participate in our hiring processes by serving on interview panels for future roles across the company.

    Please note that employment will be contingent upon providing documentation verifying your legal work authorization in the country of residence, in accordance with applicable law.You’re a perfect match if you have:

    • Experience in project management (or/and SM experience)

    • Deep understanding of SDLC/PDLC

    • Deep understand of QA tools, practices and methodologies

    • Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar

    • Understanding of Agile philosophy and experience with frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and scaled frameworks (SAFe, Less, Nexus)

    • English level: Advanced

    • Executive communication skills

    • Previous experience with healthcare, ideally US-based Nice to have: - Experience in product management

    • Experience in VUCA environments

    • Technical background
