Updater, Inc. is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior QA Engineer, Automation to join our innovative team at the MoveHQ division. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in building and refining our automated testing frameworks using Cypress, ensuring the technological excellence and effectiveness of our quality assurance processes. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on technical expert who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about elevating product quality through cutting-edge automated solutions. This role will report directly to our QA Manager.
About the Role
- Automation Leadership: Spearhead the development and enhancement of our automation testing frameworks using Cypress, setting the standard for quality and efficiency.
- Technical Execution: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and architectures, ensuring high-quality deployments in our staging environments. Focus solely on automation to enhance and accelerate our testing processes.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with the engineering teams to integrate automated tests with ongoing development and deployment processes.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor our existing QA engineers, providing technical leadership and driving the adoption of automation throughout the team. Cultivate a team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
About You
- Experienced in Automation: You have 5-8 years of experience in automation testing, with a strong background in building and upleveling testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in Cypress and JavaScript: You possess deep expertise in Cypress for creating automated test scripts and are proficient in JavaScript, the underlying technology of Cypress.
- Python Knowledge: While not mandatory, knowledge of Python is a significant plus, providing additional versatility in our technology stack.
- Startup Mentality: You ideally come from a startup environment, accustomed to the pace and flexibility required to thrive in such settings.
- Leadership Aspirations: While you will not be a people manager, have the desire and potential to be the technical lead while mentoring teams, steering project directions and technical decision-making.
Additional Qualifications
- A proactive problem solver who can initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
This posting is anticipated to remain open until November 20th, 2024. The new hire salary range for this position is $114,000 to $177,000 annually. Factors which may affect the starting pay within this range include skills, experience, and other qualifications aligned with Updater's internal leveling guidelines.
