As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend you will be joining our fast-moving product engineering team working on the future of our customer platform. In your day to day you will be working on delivering features for an incredibly modern, distributed application that ingests and processes hundreds of thousands of data points per second. This US-based role can be remote or based out of our New York City office.

The opportunity

• Contribute code to production systems from the get-go.

• Share responsibility for several microservices and design significant features that impact multiple services.

• Influence the next iterations of our architecture as we strive to get more alerts to our clients faster and with near-perfect reliability.

• Implement industry best practices along with novel patterns and technologies that will help improve the codebase and the product.

• Partner with other members of the team to plan and deliver the next iteration of our customer applications to support emerging use cases for our product.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience building back end services and applications

• Experience with Java, Scala, Python and/or other object oriented programming languages

• Experience working with microservices, distributed systems, and real time streaming data

• Strong object-oriented design, API design, data modeling, and coding skills

• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

• Proven track record of implementing and following strong engineering practices through hands-on coding

• Experience mentoring and/or influencing junior team members in evolving their skills as software engineers

Colorado, New York, California, Washington only: The salary range for this position is as indicated below. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors.

Colorado: $144,000-$171,000

New York/California/Washington: $160,000-$190,000
