Job Description

The Technical Director (TD) is an exciting role to propose effective solutions which address the strategic needs of our customers. We harness Appsbroker CTS’ capabilities, products and partnerships to bridge the gap between vision and reality, to ensure we meet our growth and demand objectives as a business. In this role you team up with our brilliant sales leaders to ensure the best possible results from our customer engagements.

At the highest level, the core Technical Director responsibilities are:

1. scoping the shape and the size of a solution.

2. creating written deliverables to describe that solution.

3. establishing the related technical costings for the solution.

4. presenting that solution back to the customer as required.

This is a client-facing role that requires the individual to perform SME leadership, have domain specific technical knowledge and requires extensive collaboration with internal GTM teams. In addition, the role works day to day with many Google personnel and their leadership teams as per our Joint GTM Plan.

The overall success of the role will be the commercial success measured as closed won business from your particular areas and alignments that you influence.

The role will also be eligible for deal related commission recognising the contribution you make to achieving the agreed sales targets set by the leadership team.

Although we are a Google Partner, we are not necessarily looking for someone with GCP experience. We will still consider your application If you are from an Azure or AWS background.

Responsibilities:

Commercial:

  • Leads the creation of quality, multi faceted, innovative and cost-effective proposals and deliverables to meet the client’s requirements and expectations.
  • Responds to and supports the Client Partners / Account Directors in executing the sales bid process.
  • Follows standard agreed processes and methodologies where defined.
  • Develops trust and relationships with customer technical SMEs to discover their required outcomes and solutions.
  • Partners with delivery teams to ensure that the proposed solution is achievable and ultimately, accurate.
  • Partners with managed service teams to ensure solution can be run effectively.
  • Provides financial and creative input for solution proposals, SOWs and other pitch materials.
  • Participates in due diligence and contract negotiations as required.
  • Mitigates risks to NewCo through the appropriate due diligence applied to commercial and technical decisions.
  • Finally, the TD will often be required to: travel to customer or partner offices, lead workshops, present proposals, perform coordination and other leadership.

Practice:

  • Actively participates in the Architecture community - freely shares knowledge and expertise with team members in a collaborative style.
  • Develops or streamlines processes and generates reusable artifacts that ensure consistency of materials and approach.
  • Works with product and service owners to develop new offerings for our portfolio.
  • Ensures that improvements / customer feedback are integrated back to our portfolio of solutions.
  • Develops relationships with Google SMEs

Self Development:

  • Stay up to date and deepen knowledge of key technology areas. Evaluates existing and emerging technologies.
  • Tackles technical certifications as agreed with lead; have achieved Google Certified Cloud Professional Architect within an agreed timeframe
  • Develops communication and other non-technical skills
  • Builds own SME “industry voice” and broadcasts thought leadership
