Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Remote Supervision

About the role:

We are seeking passionate and skilled senior/staff software engineering candidates who want to work in a fast-paced and execution oriented team. At Gatik, you will join the Remote Supervision team which plays an important role in monitoring our fleet and leveraging real-time human-in-loop guidance for operational efficiency.

This role is onsite 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!

What you'll do:

• Architect and develop server-side logic for visualization systems that represent the AV environment for human-in-loop decisions and render semantic and other contextual data
• Build, own & maintain the interface or bridge between frontend and our self-driving stack
• Contribute to all technical aspects of the development, including technical requirements, software design, implementation, testing and deployment
• Work with the autonomy team to understand interfaces and data formats exchanged between modules. Make decisions about APIs and data flow considering usability, performance and compatibility
• Implement and maintain backend services, API’s and databases
• Implement communication protocols and data exchange mechanisms between backend and frontend
• Optimize for robustness, scalability and real-time performance
• Work closely with frontend developers, designers and other cross-functional teams including testing team for integration and system testing

What we're looking for:

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of industry experience in C++
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 middleware
• Familiarity with server-side frameworks and technologies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services
• Experience writing unit tests, using software project management software(Jira, Confluence, etc.) and containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD systems.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues
