Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage or salary range for this position is $85K - $115K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

- Independently conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s). To do this role, the Technical Specialist must:
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test);
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions;
- Validate the project scope and sample applicability;
- Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing;
- Follow established test plan;
- Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed;
- Conduct thorough construction review; document results;
- Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, radiation, sound, and laser.
- Mentor less senior technical personnel.
- Conduct various types of assessments, including assessments against the against the IEC 62443 family and related standards.
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive compliance audits on our clients' IT products and systems, identifying potential risks.
- Review and assess third-party security practices and protocols, ensuring they meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Able to develop and deliver comprehensive reports of assessment findings, risk descriptions, impact analysis, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay abreast of the latest IT trends, security standards, and regulatory requirements related to the relevant sector.
- Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site.
- Develop and set up test plans.
- Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to: spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, and articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
- Engage with clients and assemble quotations
- Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.
- Be flexible with work schedule
- Travel as needed (estimated 15% of time, including international)
- A valid driver's license and reliable driving record are required.
- Perform other duties as needed

What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, or the equivalent in terms of education, experience and/or training.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
- Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
- Must be customer focused and quality driven
- Ability to travel as business needs dictates up to 15% including international travel.
- A valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
- This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field or the equivalent in terms of experience.
- Prior project management experience.
- Previous experience in US, Canadian, and other international product safety standards (UL, CSA, IEC, etc.)
