Senior Test Engineer

NexGen Data Systems Inc. (NGDS) is seeking a Senior Test Engineer (Software Engineer III) who will join our team to support our government customer.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Evaluates the applicability of a broad range of information systems issues, including hardware/software integration, compatibility and multiple platforms.
• Evaluates the effectiveness and applicability of a broad range of information systems.
• Works with Test Engineer to develop test cases and formal test plans to implement large information system.
• Provides testing input for program engineering and acquisition documents and products.
• Test software system and reports defects clearly and concisely.
• Tracks all system bugs/discrepancies, and ensures software engineers resolve and incorporate necessary fixes.
• Performs complex and repetitive testing to ensure computer system conforms to specifications.

Desired/Required Skills:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
• Ten (10) years with Master’s or fourteen (14) years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification required
• Highly specialized in one or more phases of systems engineering and testing.
• Able to evaluates the applicability of a broad range of information systems issues, including hardware/software integration, compatibility and multiple platforms.
• Ability to evaluate the effectiveness and applicability of a broad range of information systems.
• Develop test cases and formal test plans to implement large information system.
• Provides testing input for program engineering and acquisition documents and products.
• Test software system and reports defects clearly and concisely.
