Our studio is located in Austin, TX, and we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior UI Designer to join us and bring our first AAA game to life. We offer fully remote, hybrid, or in-office options for day-to-day work.

Reporting to the Design Director you will play a meaningful role as we continue development in pre-production. In this role, you will own the implementation of the game UI and join forces with other designers, artists, and engineers to deliver an intuitive, AAA quality user experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and create UI screens, player HUD, and UX flows for game systems.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for rapid iteration in pre-production.
  • Implement UI scripting to integrate and connect UI elements within the game engine.
  • Develop visual UI assets alongside Art Director to align with the overall Art vision to evoke the desired atmosphere and mood.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineering for seamless UI integration.
  • Partner with UX Research Director to gather feedback and iterate on UI designs for optimal player experience.
  • Provide mentorship to Design team for standard process and good intuitive UX design.
  • Stay updated on UI/UX trends for competitive advantage.
  • Manage time effectively to help achieve project goals.
  • Ensure accessibility considerations are included into designs to make the game accessible to players with diverse needs and abilities.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design for video games, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on AAA titles.
  • Proficiency in UI design tools such Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch, as well as experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Deep understanding of player psychology and game mechanics.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying design concepts.
  • Experience with UI scripting and optimization with languages such as Lua or C#.
  • Familiarity with UI optimization techniques to ensure optimal performance across different platforms and resolutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • A passion for gaming and a strong interest in immersive storytelling.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $104,160
  • Pay Range End: $175,920
