Job Description

Hi, we’re CompanyCam.

We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.

But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!

The Role

If your grandma asked what you did at work each day, and you’d have to give her a combination of an answer about SEO, organic website traffic, content writing, keyword clusters, brand storytelling, and authority building that she wouldn’t understand at all—then this job is for YOU.

You know how to nerd. You don’t see SEO as a thing of the past, but a valuable data tool to be leveraged in understanding real people with real problems. What terms are they searching for on the way to solving those problems? You can define topic clusters, stand up new pages, edit current pages, and identify how all those pieces work together inside a content hub with all the backend boxes checked. Organic traffic and website conversions make you excited.

But you are also fluent in brand and everything attached to it. You’re going to make sure the content hub is populated with pieces that engage and entertain our readers, with a UX/UI that will make our product designers drool. You can give feedback to designers and copywriters that keep pages and entries on point. Essentially, you can happily exist in the middle space where the distinct voices involved in website content converge.

Sitting on the Content Team within Brand and Marketing, this role’s time will be divided equally between website content strategy, content writing, content production, and content management. Sound like a lot of content? It’s because it is—we’re a big-thinking team at a fast-growing SaaS company aiming to continue scaling past our competitors. We need a person who wants to hustle—but we highly value collaboration and co-ownership, so you won’t be left alone to solve world hunger. ;)

If you have the ability to live across the creative to technical spectrum as it relates to website content—and you think you could maybe explain it to your grandma—make sure you check the boxes on the list and hit us up today.

In this job you will...

  • Plan and manage a full content calendar for the website around days and months of significance to the market and buying cycle.
  • Own and manage website content deliverables including: content audit, pillar and cluster mapping, keyword research, duplicate content audit, etc.
  • Optimize and update content for SEO and user engagement.
  • Devise and track digital brand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to define growth and success metrics as it relates to the website, including audience development and engagement.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated cross functional website team on website priorities within an agile environment.
  • Work closely with other departments and teams to ensure a seamless and user-friendly content experience.
  • Write, build, and implement content entry needs.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to content team members regarding website content needs, keyword research, and asset development.
  • Stay abreast of SEO trends and best practices to continuously enhance the website content strategy.

You must...

  • Show up every day, taking the courage to do the difficult but necessary stuff.
  • Grow up constantly: you're OK working in an environment full of change. You take responsibility, love ownership, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
  • Do good by treating co-workers and customers the way you would like to be treated.
  • Be technically savvy and hungry to learn the ins and outs of our platform quickly.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree and 6-9 years of relevant experience.
  • Have experience with content management systems, including Craft and WordPress.
  • Know your way around performance-focused tools like Google Analytics, as well as native reporting tools.
  • Be proficient with keyword research tools like SEMrush.
  • Understand core page elements and how to effectively leverage them when executing content for a page (title tags, H1s, H2s, image tags, etc).
  • Be able to distill complex topics into accessible, concise, persuasive, and elegant copy.
  • Have demonstrated experience creating digital content from conception to implementation.
  • Possess time management and multitasking skills, including the ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks and duties, pay close attention to detail, and work independently while meeting specific deadlines.
  • Can operate flexibly within a hybrid work environment.
  • Reside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S. Sorry, we're not hiring outside the U.S. at this time even if you're willing to work during U.S. time zones.

It'd be nice if you...

  • Have at least 5 years experience standing up content hubs for enterprise brands and building governance workflows.
  • Have experience managing content writers or freelancers.
  • Know your way around ClickUp, our project management software.
  • Have context for the trades and the contracting space.
  • Understand the ins and outs of a quickly-scaling SaaS company.
