Bollinger Motors is seeking a Diagnostic Field Engineer to provide on-site diagnostic support, maintenance, and repair services for our automotive products and systems, with a particular focus on Class 4, 5, and 6 vehicles. This position reports to the Service Director. This is a remote position overseeing the Western United States.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting on automotive equipment and systems at client sites, specifically for Class 4, 5, and 6 vehicles.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automotive diagnostic equipment and systems.
  • Provide training and support to clients on the proper use and maintenance of diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex diagnostic issues.
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Travel to client locations as required.
Requirements

Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology,or a related field.
  • 5+ years as a Diagnostic Field Service Engineer/Technician in the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive diagnostic systems and equipment, particularly for Class 4, 5, and 6 vehicles.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software
  • Experience with predictive maintenance software (e.g. predictive analytics, condition monitoring)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
