ServiceNow Developer - CMDB Discovery

Powder River is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) in managing and overseeing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role involves inventorying and troubleshooting existing information, as well as managing integration and discovery processes, such as generating patterns in discovery and creating or modifying new and existing patterns. NOTE: This is a Fully Remote / Work from Home position.

• Primarily responsible for CMDB Discovery and Service Mapping in USACE ServiceNow
• Define, implement, and integrate Configuration Management policies and procedures to support the ServiceNow CMDB, including governance, accounting/reporting, verification, and auditing
• Drive transformation and maturity of the ServiceNow CMDB and service mapping activities to align with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM 4.0) and the USACE ServiceNow roadmap
• Collaborate with the configuration item (CI) Class and/or System Owners to troubleshoot and resolve discovery issues, implement application Service Mapping as requirements emerge, and ensure accurate representation of the business service
• Maintain and create new midservers and troubleshoot midserver connectivity issues
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing integrations with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and LDAP
• Support design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining ServiceNow CMDB data (i.e., discovery and service mapping)
• Act as a key stakeholder supporting ServiceNow CMDB tasks, including the configuration management plan and standards, monitoring CMDB health, communicating CMDB activities, and assisting in training other Technology team members on how to utilize and maintain the CMDB
• Create and/or modify CI Identifiers, and create or modify discovery probes and patterns where applicable
• Support and maintain configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of assets and configuration items

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) or more years of experience; four (4) years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree
• Experience maintaining enterprise hardware and software Configuration Items (CI’s), ensuring data integrity, and tracking assets within a ServiceNow CMDB
• Experience with Service Mapping and Discovery processes
• Experience with the Change Management process to understand the changes and impacts within the CMDB

Required Clearance:

• Secret clearance (per SAIC, interim required to start but we want a cleared person)
• Must be a current US Citizen

Required Certifications:

• DoD 8570 IAT II complaint (such as Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security, CASP+ CE, etc.)
• ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) certification, or can obtain within 6 months of hire
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) Discovery certification, or can obtain within 6 months of hire

Technical Environment:

On-prem ServiceNow instance hosted by a third party, not ServiceNow cloud. Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating systems; ServiceNow ticketing system; Microsoft 365 Office suite of applications.
