The Shift Lead is responsible for managing his team to carry out the manufacturing operations according to schedule in compliance with HSE and GMP rules.

​Key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Represent production management to the team members and promote Novartis values within the team;

  • Line responsibility and shift walkthrough;

  • Actively participate to the talent agenda: Leads people processes through recruitment, training, coaching and performance to meet all operation requirements sustaining manufacturing unit competitiveness and diversity. Supports a robust career path deployment and succession plan for the teams;

  • Animate, coach, motivate and develop employees to ensure their maintaining the best level of know-how and interpersonal skills;

  • Ensure a fair distribution of tasks in the team: follow-up of established shifts, management of breaks, management of holidays, management of backups and time clock issues;

  • Identify performance issues within the team and take action appropriate to remedy this. Monitor the achievement of the objectives and the plan development, conduct performance appraisal discussions with the team ;

  • Translate operational schedule into team activities. Optimize the use of technical resources to reach daily goals;

  • Facilitate / Coordinate, in collaboration with Quality Assurance, the upgrading, and the improvement of Quality by verifying the practical application on the shop floor;

  • Promote and improve the HSE culture, by implementing the necessary systems and actions in line with the evolution of the site;

  • Manage / participate in continuous improvement projects in line with strategic objectives and ensure communication and involvement of technicians and support functions.

Essential requirements:

  • Scientific Master's Degree;

  • Previous experience in a similar role highly desirable;

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry;

  • Proven people management skills.
