Position Overview:

As an E5 DevOps engineer in the Fountain Worker Experience team, you will be part of a team of 20 engineers split across multiple product squads (each including 3 to 4 engineers). You will be responsible for the infrastructure, release, performance, and maintenance of the Worker Experience Fountain products, used by some of the largest companies in the world. Your responsibility goes beyond infrastructure and ops, and you will be an integral part of the success of this team by helping fellow developers deliver a performing suite of products used by millions every year.

To succeed in this position, it is important to have a proven track record of working with large-scale enterprise products and a solid technical background in backend development and modern cloud architecture.

We are a rapidly growing team and product in the company. The team operates with agility and speed. You will be expected to make decisions even when faced with uncertainty, and you will have the freedom to do so. In fact, you will operate with the autonomy typically found in early-stage product development, rather than in larger organizations.

This role requires collaboration within a globally distributed organization, spanning different time zones, continents, and cultures (including Western and Northern Europe, USA, South Africa, India, and more).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain operational excellence across all the components of our event-driven stack, composed of 30+ domain-driven microservices
  • Deliver value to customers through core stack enhancements in performance, security, architecture
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, operations, and security of your the entire suite of products
  • Improve the developer experience by introducing and maintaining critical tooling
  • Implement and maintain the stack using best practices and current pragmatic boundaries.
  • Train the rest of the team and educate peers and customers through quality written and visual documentation

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software and DevOps engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in Enterprise SaaS software development
  • Experience with large-scale, highly available and resilient Kubernetes deployments
  • Strong technical expertise in software development and architecture, and large-scale cloud-first solutions
  • Ability to work independently and confidently, even in dynamic situations and with limited information
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, to facilitate effective collaboration with the team. Proficiency in French is also highly regarded

Nice to have:

  • Previous positions in (B2B) SaaS startups will be highly valued
  • Experience working with event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture, kubernetes, high volume architectures, API strategies, MongoDB, AWS, micro-services and web security is highly desirable

Location: You will work remotely from Western Europe or the US/Canada in East Coast time zones.

Salary Range: $156,000 - $225,000

Even if you do not meet all the requirements above, we still encourage you to apply for this position. While we try to be thorough with our prerequisites, not everything about you as a candidate can be condensed into a list of bullet points. What do you have to lose?
