Valkyrie Aero is seeking a frontend engineer to design and build the operator interface for an airborne mission system. Engineers in this role are responsible for the interface from visual and interaction design through the production frontend. The interface displays many live assets over map tiles alongside backend telemetry and control panels, and must remain legible and responsive under heavy load. This is a fully remote position.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design and build dense, legible interfaces that display live data, many assets, and control panels without clutter
Render and update maps in real time with large numbers of objects over map tiles
Connect the interface to live backend data over WebSockets and the product APIs
Script synthetic data and build demos of interface panels when live data is not available
Support integration and test of the interface against live systems
Professional experience in frontend engineering with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript using a modern framework (React, Vue, or Svelte)
Experience building real-time, data-intensive interfaces that remain responsive under heavy load
Experience designing information-dense professional tools
Experience integrating with backend APIs and live data feeds over WebSockets
A portfolio of interactive, working interfaces
Must be a U.S. citizen
Experience with mapping and geospatial rendering (MapLibre, Mapbox, Cesium, or deck.gl) and WebGL
Experience with video and still capture and light editing for demos
