Software Engineer (Frontend, Mobile Focus)

We are looking for a software engineer with deep expertise in mobile development to join our team and work on a consumer-facing marketplace. The ideal candidate will lead key mobile initiatives, focusing on building compelling and highly engaging user experiences. You will work on upcoming product engineering projects using modern design patterns and coding standards. Collaboration with product and design teams will be essential to ensure that we continue building a high-quality user experience across our mobile platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement end-to-end mobile and web product development from planning to deployment, with regular two-week release cycles.
  • Develop reusable, testable code while maintaining high design fidelity and seamless user experiences.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and other engineers to deliver technical and business requirements.
  • Participate in daily standups, bi-weekly retrospectives, and developer check-ins.
  • Identify and improve problem areas in both code and process to enhance the mobile platform's scalability and reliability.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and team-wide coding standards.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and robustness of mobile features.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in mobile and web software development, with expertise in React Native
  • Knowledge of and experience developing using ReactJS.
  • Deep understanding of mobile-first design principles and the challenges of building high-performance mobile applications.
  • Experience using build automation tools such as Fastlane and CircleCI.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React Native, and Redux, with knowledge of functional component design and hooks.
  • Hands-on experience deploying apps via automated services to the App Store and Google Play.
  • Comfortable with modern mobile architectures, immutability patterns, and middleware integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in mobile-specific technologies like Swift 5+ and/or Java 11+.
  • Experience with TypeScript, Redux-Saga, or Redux Toolkit.
  • Strong understanding of mobile testing frameworks and tools.
  • NextJS
  • A strong desire to optimize for user experience and drive feature development from a mobile-first perspective.
  • GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes
The annual salary range for this role is $145,000-$155,000. The actual salary amount will vary depending on the applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
