Overview

LMI is seeking a Solution Architect with a systems engineering background to lead solutioning and architecture efforts for the deployment of a sensor mesh technology solution in support of a joint Army-Navy initiative. The solution will provide increased in-transit visibility of assets through the use of mesh tags, repeaters and gateways.

Responsibilities

  • Substantially contribute to a multi-disciplinary team which is conceptualizing, architecting, developing, and integrating software and hardware solutions.

  • Provide enterprise, business and solution architecture leadership to develop and oversee the technical blueprint, assist in the translation of functional capability into the functional and technical architecture for that capability, help lead the definition of the EA framework, and provide governance support over the implementation and management of that framework.

  • Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.

  • Collaborate with multiple Agile development teams consisting of full stack developers, data architects, cyber engineers, hardware SMEs, and logistics SMEs to define, develop and deploy the architecture for a mesh-based sensor solution spanning multiple pilot sites.

  • Help identify and collect all RFID, mesh and data collection requirements necessary to develop a scalable solution architecture.

  • Engage stakeholders and team members to solve various complex technology challenges across the enterprise.

  • Work across multiple programs to compose an integrated technical plan/architecture.

  • Understand Army Transportation Management Systems and movement data requirements to support future interfaces with existing systems.

  • Communicate with clients to assess current transportation operations, identifying areas for improvement and how to leverage mesh technology to achieve in-transit visibility.

  • Convey the technical architecture for evaluation and consumption by both management and technical teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics and 10 or more years of demonstrated experience as an industry leader; or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or software engineering and 18 or more years of demonstrated experience as an industry leader.
  • Strong leadership and team building strengths.
  • Experience establishing enterprise functional and technical architecture design patterns and technical reference architecture and providing subject matter expertise to implement governance of that framework in the federal space.
  • Knowledge of scalable mesh sensor network technologies, both commercial DoD
  • Experienced with the latest technical frameworks and architectures, adept at working with subject matter experts across the organization.
  • Ability to see both the big picture and details of software architectures and anticipate and facilitate architectural changes over the full technology lifecycle.
  • Excellent consulting, written, and verbal communication skills to support and manage customers and clients.
  • Must be self-directed, detail oriented, and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to communicate effectively and confidently with end users, technologists, team members, and executive management.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to continually learn and apply new technologies.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Desired

  • EA certification (e.g., Enterprise Architecture Certification (CEA), Associate Certified Enterprise Architect (ACEA))
  • Experienced in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, methodologies, and tools.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with key leadership, be articulate, and be proactive.
  • Experience with AWS & Azure cloud services
