The Underwriting & Appraisals area is responsible for evaluating credit requests and property valuations to ensure accurate risk assessment, sound credit decisions, and compliance with internal policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards. Activities may include:
Analyzing borrower financial information, repayment capacity, collateral strength, and overall creditworthiness
Reviewing and validating appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines
Determining risk levels and approval recommendations
Applying underwriting standards consistently, identifying and mitigating potential risks, maintaining strong documentation practices, and partnering with lending, operations, and risk teams to support timely and high-quality credit decisions
