About the area you’d be working on

HubSpot’s Developer Product Group is pioneering the future of our customer platform, empowering external developers to design, create, and distribute groundbreaking integrations and custom solutions. We're building a robust ecosystem that extends our product's capabilities and fosters a thriving community of developers. On the UI Extensibility team, you’ll play a key role in driving the vision for platform extensibility, opening up new possibilities for custom solutions, adapting Canvas for external developers, and creating robust, seamless experiences for both developers and end users.

  • Have experience designing for platforms, developers, and/or design systems
  • Have a track record of delivering successful, intuitive products (bonus if those products are more technical in nature)
  • Take a proactive role to collaborate on strategy and vision with partners, leaders, and teams
  • Are comfortable influencing other teams and advocating for extensibility and platform goals
  • Can balance scope, speed, and quality to reach outcomes
  • Understand how your projects align with and advance a company-wide strategy
  • Can own the end-to-end design process, from leading discovery to producing high-fidelity screens to partnering with engineers to get the details right
  • Share our HEART values and practice growth mindset

Cash compensation range: 161500-258400 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

About the product

The Strategic Integrations team, part of the Ecosystem Product Line, helps our customers get more value out of HubSpot by building integrations with strategic partners & contributing to the HubSpot platform to make HubSpot extensible.

  • HubSpot’s Ecosystem is forecast to grow faster than HubSpot, and its products and services are expected to be more than 6x bigger than HubSpot by 2024. You will play a key role, in designing a connected journey, to get the right offering to the right customer at the right time from this ever-expanding ecosystem.
  • You’d be working on a team to deepen the 3rd party integration experience across HubSpot based on customer user cases of sales, service, support, and 3rd party platform needs.
  • We are a dependency-heavy product area that weaves in and out of our customer’s HubSpot experience.

Here’s what success in your role looks like

  • A habitual response to communicate ideas visually for all stages of the design process and level of fidelity. This could look like blue sky product design ideas, synthesizing a team ideation workshop, early wires/ideas for project kick-offs, rough wireframes, high-fi prototypes, etc.
  • Contribute to shared strategy, vision, and cohesive roadmap for the future of this product area in partnership with product management and engineering peers
  • Drive alignment, set goals, and drive understanding and motivation with your partners and team; Close collaboration with PM and Engineering Peers
  • Understand your customer to build compelling journey scenarios, information architecture, interaction flows, and visual designs
  • A proactive approach to communication, problem-solving, requesting feedback early and often, and dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Work autonomously and with customer experience in mind, using our Canvas design system for a fast, efficient process
  • Champion scalable documentation efforts and contributed to knowledge sharing within the team, ensuring clear guidelines and facilitating effective collaboration.
  • Provide fast feedback loops to ensure valuable insights were gained within shorter timeframes, reducing project debt and enabling timely decision-making.
  • Actively involve cross-product groups and partner with other teams to ensure comprehensive solutions and consistency across a connected HubSpot journey
  • Craft a research-based design vision for a product that is focused on a high-priority moment in the customer journey. As UX DRI, they align multiple stakeholders across & discover ways for teams to work efficiently & effectively for a consistent user experience.
