We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Service Now Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding the functionality of the Service Now platform within our client’s organization. As a key member of an agile team, you will deliver iterative improvements, implement core Service Now modules, and collaborate with application teams to design and implement data interfaces with other enterprise systems.
You will create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs, including advanced scripting for each. Additionally, you will design and update Service Portal front-end components and perform production deployment tasks in preparation for releases. Your deep understanding of the Service Now platform, along with your object-oriented development experience, will ensure that you can deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our client. This is a full-time remote position, with a preference for candidates located in the DC area.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in IT development.
- Minimum of 3 years of development experience using the Service Now platform.
- In-depth knowledge of client and server scripting, Service Now REST APIs, and custom widget development.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies for software development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Great attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and commitment to high quality.
- Must be able to successfully manage workload for multiple work-streams and report back to its lead/supervisor.
- Experience with Jira and/or Confluence.
- Experience with academic/scientific and/or federal community is a plus.
- Knowledge of Service Now development and configuration best practices.
- Experience with development, customization, and administration of multiple components of Service Now.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and configure core Service Now applications and modules.
- Create and manage complex workflows, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs.
- Design and implement data interfaces with other enterprise application systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Implement Service Now best practices for development, configuration, and customization.
- Participate in agile development processes, providing input and feedback to improve overall team performance.
- Utilize advanced scripting techniques to develop custom widgets and solutions in the Service Portal.
- Design and update Service Portal front-end components.
- Perform production deployment tasks in preparation for releases.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Service Now database hierarchies and design principles.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
