F&G is looking to hire for a Sr. Systems Engineer (Cloud)
The Sr Systems Engineer (Cloud) will review, test, and deploy technologies for new and existing systems across the IT Enterprise. This role will also participate on project teams for large IT infrastructure initiatives and periodically take a project lead role. This role will be integral in defining and updating departmental documentation and business correspondence for projects. In addition, this position will define and perform lifecycle maintenance plans for production software and related equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and support Azure cloud environments
- Participate on project teams for large IT infrastructure initiatives and periodically take a project lead role
- Define and perform lifecycle maintenance plans for production software and related equipment
- Act as a customer liaison for day-to-day support activities
- Participate in planned monthly IT maintenance events
- Work with Project Managers to develop project scopes, estimates, milestones, and timelines
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex support issues
- Provide daily administration and oversight of enterprise system-related equipment
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure problems and performance issues
- Act as a technical consultant on assigned projects
- Research, identify, and evaluate new products, equipment, and services to support IT efficiency and business growth
- Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and consultants
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring to team members
- Maintain good working knowledge of the current industry standard for enterprise operating systems, directory services, storage systems, backup systems and related cloud-based configurations and settings
Experience & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent experience
- 4-7 years of experience in Systems Administration and Cloud Engineering
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and toolsets (Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies)
- Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably Azure
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working within an IT organization in the financial services industry
- Cloud-based Certifications
- Disaster Recovery and BCP experience
- Experience in distributed data center model
- Experience with automated monitoring tools
- Experience with collaboration software
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of directory services
- Thorough knowledge of enterprise operating systems
- Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting enterprise systems-related issues (primarily cloud-based)
- Knowledge of ITIL and Industry best practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and business units
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as develop and mentor employees
- Strong technical documentation ability
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure best practices preferred

- Regular and punctual attendance
- Some travel required (less than 10%)
