Overview
The staff accountant reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and other activities associated with the monthly general ledger close and preparing balance sheet and income statement variance analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the general ledger month-end close and prepare supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
- Assist with the completion of the month end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
- Assist with the preparation of monthly general accruals
- Prepare monthly general accruals, which includes (but not limited to) areas such as telecom, marketing, and search for unrecorded liabilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, work to resolve reconciling items, record journal entries as needed and prepare related monthly account reconciliations
- Analyze other asset and liability accounts, record journal entries as needed and prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Analyze expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
- Prepare month over month, quarter over quarter over quarter and year over year P&L and Balance sheet variance analysis
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned and work to resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with the fulfillment of external and internal audit requests
- Assist, with the documentation of Process & Procedures and associated controls
- Other duties/ special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Basic understanding of US GAAP
- 2+ years minimum accounting experience; CPA a plus, but not required
- Experience with public company environment a plus
- Knowledge of NetSuite financial system a plus
- Must be well organized and possess strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Base compensation ranges from $60,000 to $70,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
This role is based remotely, and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
