Our team has successfully launched a new and innovative technology platform, Allē, which serves millions of consumers, tens of thousands of aesthetics providers and thousands of colleagues throughout the US. Since its launch in November 2020, Allē has delivered curated promotions, personalized experiences and had millions of consumers use it as part of their beauty journey.

As the Staff Frontend Software Engineer, you will report to the Director of Engineering and continuously collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to solve the most critical technical problems.

You Will

  • Own strategic frontend architecture, systems and projects that may have a 3-6 month horizon with organizational reach across multiple teams

  • Manage some degree of ambiguity when given direction to an business, technical or organizational outcome

  • Be responsible for negotiating and influencing technical decisions that may span multiple teams

  • Champion code quality, reusability, scalability security and help make strategic software architecture decisions with the lead engineer

  • Conduct design and code reviews

  • Collaborate with Lead Engineers, Product and Project Management to take small ideas or concepts and turn them into high fidelity technical game plans and achieve the products and business goals

  • Mentor software engineers utilizing proven design patterns and your experience building large scale public facing software

Required Experience & Technical Skills

  • At least 10+ years as a Frontend Software Engineer

  • Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and GraphQL

  • Experience with Frontend frameworks like React, NextJS, Remix, and React Native (bonus) for iOS and Android

  • Configuration experience with Typescript/Javascript build and feedback tools such as webpack, rollup, eslint, prettier, and lerna

  • Worked on frontend platform improvements like increasing page performance, writing middleware, optimizing build pipelines, improving test coverage and package security

  • Familiar with various frontend architecture patterns Single Page Apps (SPA), Server Side Rendering (SSR), Micro-Frontends, component libraries and atomic design patterns

  • Experience in SEO, analytics tooling, feature flags, and web accessibility - Segment, Google Analytics, etc

  • Demonstrated writing ability for high quality documented frontend standards that are easily digestible for engineers

  • Experience collaborating with DevOps Engineers to work on pipelines, observability and monitoring best practices
