Summary
The Temporal Cloud Growth Team has an opening for a Staff Software Engineer. This team is responsible for accelerating customer adoption and consumption of Temporal Cloud. The work you will do is key to making Temporal Cloud the foundational service for all mission-critical/distributed application development. This is a unique opportunity as you will gain experience with the Temporal open source server and our cloud service while also getting significant exposure to how the business operates and how customers interact with our Cloud.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect, design and implement key aspects of the Cloud Customer Lifecycle and Experience such as: Onboarding Offboarding, Payment Collection Management, Billing Metering, 3rd-party Marketplace Integrations, Fraud Detection, Customer Data Platform Integrations, Data Lake/Analytics Integrations.
- Gather and understand business requirements with key stakeholders from different parts of the company with with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product in addition to collaborating with other engineering teams such as Frontend, Infrastructure and Security.
- Develop and deploy our Cloud offering of Temporal Nexus - our next generation Durable API Gateway/Service Marketplace.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, scalability and security.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years of experience developing a globally distributed cloud services platform.
- 6+ years of coding experience (Go, Java/Scala, Python, or other applicable languages).
- 8+ years of experience building large scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technologies such as Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, SQL, etc.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams.
- Capable of operating from conception through the continuous operation of 24x7 services. Ideally, you have experience in a production DevOps environment.
What is Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Go.
- Experience working with previous onboarding funnels, integrating with payment platforms or working on/with API Gateways.

Compensation
- The estimated pay range for this role is $170,000 - $240,000.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
