Overview

LMI is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to support activities related to shipyard modernization as part of enterprise-wide U.S. Navy strategic modernization and improvement efforts. LMI is helping NAVSUP, NAVSEA, and the shipyards use technology to track materiel through the shipyards to address long-standing problems. This position can be worked remotely.

The supply chain planner will play a pivotal role in shaping and maturing our supply chain operations at the intersection of services and products. You will shape the development and introduction of planning processes at LMI for capabilities development and use in other portfolios. You will also assist specific projects with supply planning activities such as supply planning, inventory management, and supplier relationship management. This role will require operating under uncertainty and the ability to prioritize and execute the development of a capability from inception to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process implementation from the introduction and implementation of supply chain planning processes, including demand planning, supply planning, and product portfolio planning
  • Collaborate with the portfolio management team to identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies and actions
  • Plan the product portfolio, including new product introductions or product discontinuation/disposal
  • Demand planning, including baseline forecasts, incorporation of expert assessments and market data, and bottom-up and top-down plans
  • Supply planning, including the balancing of service, inventory, and cost objectives
  • Lead cross-functional planning decision reviews
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance
  • Formalize processes, procedures, and knowledge management activities into “the LMI way” for supply chain planning
  • Research and investigate supply chain planning practices, tools, and innovations in the commercial industry that may be applicable to the portfolio or other projects
  • Develop a knowledge base about supply chain planning and mentor and train team members in order to build a bench of skilled staff at LMI

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5 years experience working in logistics and supply chain management
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making
  • Familiarity with IoT concepts and their application in supply chain processes
  • Familiarity with military modes of transportation and data systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex ideas effectively
  • Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and active security clearance (Secret)
  • Available for occasional travel

Desired

  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for supply chain insights.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and manage change within an organization.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile) for successful process implementations.
  • A relevant industry certification such as the ASCM CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
  • Familiarity with supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA)
  • Familiarity with military ITV and mass movements
